Zhovkva
Once admired by political figures and noblemen such as Peter the Great and John Sobieski, Zhovka is now a perfect example of a Renaissance period town. Its number of architectural sights ranks it next to Lviv. The medieval Zhovkva Castle (1594) that used to serve as the King John III Sobieski quarter is the main tourist magnet of the town. Also St. Lawrence's Church (1606) with its leaning bell tower and necropolis of the Sobiesky and Zolkiewsky families are worth seeing.
You will also find it interesting to visit the Basilian Monastery and Christ Heart Church (1612) and the relics of St. Parthenius, a complex of the former Dominican monastery with the early baroque church (1655). Another place worth seeing is the Holy Trinity Church (1720) – a masterpiece of wooden architecture that was enlisted as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Zhovkva is also known for its synagogue (1692), stone walls, towers, Krakiw and Hlynsk Gates.
Krekhiv
An extremely scenic and harmonious place, well-known in Ukraine and worldwide for its religious center, the Krekhow monastery, with the brick Church of the Transfiguration (XVIII century) and wooden Church of the Intercession (2014) where two miracle-working icons are placed. If weather and time permit you can take a walk and admire Roztochia hills, visit monastic cells in “Joel's cave”, and also grab some healing source water.
Stradch
A calm atmosphere, harmony and beauty make Holy Stradetskiy mountain a well-known pilgrimage place in Ukraine it holding a special place among Christian relics. The oldest part of the sight is the unique cave monastery complex (XI-XIII centuries), revealing what life was like as a monk in the period. On Stradetskiy mountain you will also find the Dormition Church (1795) that is endowed with full absolution for each day in a year according to the decretal epistle. There you will find a replica of the miracle-working Icon of the Mother of God “the Unbreakable Wall”, icons of Anton Manastyrsky and Iconostasis of Oleksa Novakivskyi.
