Ukrainian Christmas is quite different from other Christmas celebrations in Europe. While most of Europe gets together for Christmas on December 24th and 25th, Ukrainian Christmas is celebrated on the 6th and 7th of January. This resembles the birth of Jesus Christ according to the old Orthodox Julian calendar. And with many traditions dating back to Pre-Christian pagan times, Ukrainian Christmas is even more so like no other. That’s why we want to use our chance to bring Ukrainian Christmas traditions as close to you as possible and make you feel the real spirit of this wonderful fest right here in Lviv.
